Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons to speak at Gas Symposium

Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, His Excellency Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, will be speaking at the special Gas Symposium being organized by the Gas Export Countries Forum, GECF in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago.

The symposium which will take place at the Hyatt Regency Conference Centre in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on November 13, 2018, will be declared open by the Trinidadian Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley.

Mr. Obiang Lima, along with other Ministers of Energy from Algeria, Nigeria, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela among others, will address the issue of “Natural Gas and Long Term Energy Security”.

Other dignitaries expected include the Executive Director of the Latin America Energy Organisations, OLADE, Blanco Bonilla; Secretary General of the International Gas Union, IGU, Luis Bertran Rafecas, and leading energy companies such as Rosneft, National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago, Gazprom and Shell among others.

The Symposium is taking place on the sidelines of the 20th Ministerial Meeting (MM) of the Forum, scheduled for Wednesday November 14, 2018 also in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.https://gecf20mm.energy.gov.tt/

At the meeting, which will usher in the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Forum, the Ministers will discuss among other important issues, current and future energy trends and the role of gas as outlined in the 2018 GECF Global Gas Outlook 2040 and the Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB) both scheduled to be released in December 2018.
